About the Event
Come to Yesod Farm+Kitchen on Sunday, October 17, 10-2pm, for a volunteer day as we plant garlic! Learn about the thousands of years old relationship between the Jewish people and garlic: a beloved food, medicine, and source of protection.
This event is outdoors and distanced, but please **bring a mask** in case there are times where we need to be in closer proximity.
All are welcome! This includes families, folks of diverse abilities, and any religious background. There will be tasks for all ages and abilities.
10-10:30am: Introductions and Garlic Learning! Get oriented to both Yesod Farm+Kitchen and each other! Learn about the Jewish relationship to garlic and how this magical plant grows.
10:30-1pm: Garlic Planting! We will be pulling existing plants out of beds, adding compost, planting garlic, and spreading mulch. Additional tasks may include harvesting dry beans.
1-2pm: BYO Lunch! We’ll be eating together outside. A limited amount…
