New Year for Animals Farm-to-Table Fundraiser

The Jewish calendar has a New Year for Animals called Rosh Hashanah La’Behemot. In honor of this day, Yesod Farm+Kitchen is celebrating our chickens and goats! Join us for a Farm-to-Table dinner on the farm's lawn. This fundraiser will support our animal care fund.

Tickets are for sale until Wednesday, August 9. Please give what you can. Tickets have a $36 minimum to cover dinner expenses for one guest. Tickets for higher on the sliding scale contribute to our animal fund.

Come as early as 6:00pm to meet the goats and chickens. We will sit down for dinner at 6:30pm.

Each meal ticket includes salad, roasted vegetables and iced tea from Yesod and neighboring farms, as well as wine. You can choose from the following main course and dessert options.

Main Course (choose 1)

We are excited to offer 3 different options of the main course, to accommodate varying dietary needs:

• Cheese Board: An assortment of foods whose ingredients come from Yesod – five goat cheeses, pickled vegetables, pickled eggs, honey, jams, fresh vegetables and bee pollen – will be served with crackers and olives. Please indicate below if you need your crackers to be gluten-free.
• Quiche (Dairy-Free): Seasonal vegetables, herbs, and eggs from Yesod. Please indicate below if you need your quiche to be gluten-free. Comes with a pickle plate.
• Pasta (Vegan): Please indicate below if you need your pasta to be gluten-free. Comes with a vegan pickle plate.

Dessert (choose 1)

Custom flavors made by Hilltop Ice Cream

• Dairy ice cream. Flavor TBA with ingredients from Yesod
• Oat milk ice cream (dairy-free). Flavor will be determined by what’s available at Hilltop.

Dietary Restrictions

Dinner will be prepared in a home kitchen and plated by Yesod staff. Questions about cross-contamination and kashrut can be sent to info@yesodfarm.org. Dinner will be vegetarian and nut-free. Please share any other dietary restrictions that you have. Please specify if you cannot be seated at a table with these foods present.

Dress Code - be comfortable!

Please dress for the weather, and bring a mask (mask required for getting food from the buffet line). While there are far fewer mosquitos at Yesod than there are in the city of Asheville, we still recommend wearing long sleeves and pants or wearing bug spray. 

In Case of Rain we will cancel this event. Please check your email the day of the event – we will send a message by 2pm if we are canceling. Since this is a fundraising event, we are not able to provide refunds in case of cancelation, but will have packaged dinners available for pick up and will follow up about other opportunities to tour the space.

Accessibility

There is an uphill walk from the parking spot to the dinner venue, with closer parking available. We will be eating on a mowed lawn that is not perfectly flat. We will provide folding chairs for seating. If you have a chair that works better for you, you are welcome to bring it. There is no shade at the dinner venue. Bathrooms and handwashing are available. COVID: Everyone is required to wear a mask when getting food. Food will be served by the farm crew, who will be wearing masks and ensuring there is no cross-contamination. You will have a chance to provide us with your preference for seating on your registration form. Please email us if you have additional needs.
