About the Event
Let's bake matzah! We’ll supply the oven and ingredients, and guide you through the process. This event is outdoors.
Matzah is an unleavened flatbread that Jews eat during Passover seders (ritual meals) and throughout the holiday of Passover. Justin Goldstein and others will guide you through baking matzah that is kosher for Passover. Each guest will go home with 3 matzah.
The recipe will be simply flour and water. We will use flour from local miller Carolina Ground, and water collected from a spring in Fairview. We’re grateful to the folks who lent their portable oven: Jennifer Lapidus of Carolina Ground and Scott Unfried of Flatrock Bakery, Fletcher Village Bakery, and West First Wood-fired Pizza.
COVID: This event is happening outdoors. Please bring a mask to wear when we aren't able to distance. Let us know about additional covid safety measures you may need.
