Manual/Chemical-Free Poison Ivy Removal

Do you want to learn how to remove poison ivy without applying chemicals to the land? Guest instructor Brenden Almand will demonstrate land management techniques. Instead of using herbicides, it's possible to manually uproot poison ivy. In this workshop, you will learn how to do this safely without getting a rash. This includes how to dress, handle tools, pull out poison ivy, and dispose of the plants.

You'll have a choice between observation and hands-on learning. If you want to participate in pulling out poison ivy, please wear a long-sleeve shirt, long pants tucked into socks, and boots or shoes that can be hosed off.

The workshop will be 90 minutes, from 5:00 to 6:30pm. Afterward you'll have the option to stay for a work party and then dinner. From 6:30 to 7:30pm, those who stay can assist Yesod Farm+Kitchen by volunteering with poison ivy removal. Cold showers are available.…
