About the Event
Lag BaOmer literally means the 33rd day of the Omer. This holiday is seen as a midway stop and a celebration on our count between Passover (liberation) and Shavuot (revelation). Jews view the Omer and Lag BaOmer in many different ways, and it’s popular to attend a festive gathering around a bonfire.
This spring, we’re in the process of transitioning our field. As Jewish farmers, we’re moving land from the liberation of shmita fallowness to the revelation of ecologically-mindful vegetable production to feed the human community. Come share in the work and celebrate Lag BaOmer on the farm. We will prepare the field for summer planting and spend time together around a fire.
Join us for farming in the field 4:00-6:30pm. Then head up the hill to eat dinner around a fire 7:00-9:00pm. Please bring your own dinner and utensils. Yesod will provide a pumpkin-cowpea curry (vegan and gluten-free), along…
