Garlic Harvest

Summer solstice means garlic harvest! 7 months ago we planted over 1,000 garlic bulbs on a community volunteer day, and now they're ready to harvest!

This event is outdoors and distanced, but please **bring a mask** in case there are times where we need to be in closer proximity. Also dress for the heat and bring a water bottle!

All are welcome! This includes families, folks of diverse abilities, and any religious background. There will be tasks for all ages and abilities.

We will be... -pulling garlic, cleaning it off, braiding into strands -harvesting the 'volunteer' wheat collecting straw from off the beds -spreading and incorporating compost to get the soil ready for the next crop

You're also welcome to stick around from 12:00-12:30 to pick berries to take home. If you're planning on berry picking, we recommend closed toed shoes and long pants to protect from poison ivy and limit ticks (though we always suggest a post-farm visit tick check!)

30-40% of the garlic will be donated through partner organizations 60-70% of the garlic will stay at Yesod and show up in dishes at our future events, as well as support the people who live and work here.

Accessibility: There are flat, unpaved, wide walkways in the field. We have some shade structures and chairs. The available bathrooms are a few minutes walk uphill from the field.
