Bonfire Menorah

On Chanukah, it's a mitzvah to light your menorah in a place where it can be seen. We have a tradition at Yesod Farm+Kitchen of doing this by making a bonfire menorah. You're invited to join us in celebration on the 8th night. We'll kindle the fires at 5:45pm, and socialize around their light for a couple hours.

What to Wear/Bring: Dress in layers, as the wind on this mountain can be chilly. Bring a thermos for hot beverages. (Yesod will serve cocoa and maybe hot toddies.)

Accessibility: There is an sloped walk from the parking spot to the bonfire site, with closer parking available. We will be socializing on a lawn that is not perfectly flat. We will provide folding chairs for seating. If you have a chair that works better for you, you are welcome to bring it. There is a composting toilet and handwashing station nearby.

COVID: Please stay home if you are not feeling well or if you have been exposed to someone with symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID in the past 10 days. We ask that everyone brings their own mask. We will also have surgical masks available. Everyone closer than 6 feet will wear masks.

Weather: This event is outdoors. In case of severe weather, we may cancel. You will receive an email by 2pm the afternoon of the event in case of cancellation.

Transportation: Can you give a ride? Please email info@yesodfarm.org with details. Do you need a ride? So far there is one guest from Flat Creek/Weaverville who has offered a ride -- if you're coming from that area, please email info@yesodfarm.org to ask to be connected with this driver. Another guest can take 1-3 passengers from West Asheville, Candler, or Woodfin.
